UptimeRobot's free plan (50 monitors) is genuinely generous for pure uptime, and their paid Solo plan is cheap. Ensju's free plan is smaller on monitor count (10) because a monitor here can also carry SSL and sit beside real server agents. You're comparing a pinger to a consolidated monitoring stack. At $10/mo, Ensju's Homelab bundles uptime + SSL + 5 server agents + a status page, which on the pure-uptime vendors means buying several products.
When UptimeRobot is the better choice
If you only need website up/down checks for a lot of endpoints and will never care about server metrics, SSL dashboards, or status pages, UptimeRobot's free tier is the pragmatic choice: fewer features, but more free monitors and a tool that's been doing exactly one thing well for years.
